Description

Cap: convex to campanulate; 15 - 50 mm diameter; pellucid, somewhat transparent so the gills may be seen through the cap, rugulose (wrinkled); cream to pale orange white; margin pellucid striate.

Stipe: cylindrical, often caespitose; 40 – 150 × 2 - 3 mm; reddish brown with a pale yellowish white apex.

Gills: adnate; crowded; 12 to 20 complete gills and lamellulae in 2 - 3 series; cream.

Flesh:

Spore print: white.

Spores: ellipsoid; 6.5 - 8 × 3 - 4 m; thin walled, inamyloid.

Notes: this Marasmius is characterized by its transparent cream cap with a yellow centre and a red brown to yellow stipe.
