Cap: planoconvex; 40 - 65 mm diameter; glabrous, glutinous, with small flat flecks embedded in the gluten; cream, pale orange white; margin sulcate.

Stipe: cylindrical, widening towards base; 30 - 50 × 2 - 5 mm; glabrous; white, pinkish white; base sub-bulbous.

Gills: adnate; subdistant; white; lamellulae in two series.

Spore print: white

Spores: subglobose; 20 – 25 × 18 – 23 µm; thick walled.

Notes: this Oudemansiellais characterized by its glutinous cream capwith embedded floccules. There are probably other Oudemansiella species in NC. Careful observations of the cap and spores sizes are required to distinguish them.
