Fruiting body: cup; 20 –60mm diameter; inner surface glabrous, burnt orange; outer surface minutely lannose, white to cream.

Stipe: central, irregular; 8 – 12 × 3 – 8 mm; white.

Notes:this collection is characterised by the burntorange interior of the cup with a wooly white to cream exterior. May just be a colour variant of P. subpurpurea, but it is growing on a different substrate and in a different habitat.
