Cap: convex; 40-100 mm diameter; densely covered in scales; viscid; pale ochraceous, scales dark orange brown; margin smooth.

Stipe:cylindrical, often curved;50 - 80 × 5–10 mm; hairy, scaly; yellowish brown, paler at apex with a distinct ring.

Gills: adnate to adnexed;pale yellowish becoming tawny brown.
