Description
Cap: semicircular or reniform, laterally attached; 20 – 80 mm diameter; finely tomentose; zoned in alternate bands of different colours that may be brown, orange, grey, blue-black, ochre, white or green, usually white at the margin.
Stipe: absent, caps attached laterally.
Pores: small cream to white pores, 4-6 per mm.
Flesh: thin, 5 mm; cream; strongly dextrinoid.

Notes: This fungus is difficult to identify like most species of Trametes. Corner records that this common species with a very wide distribution is nevertheless not frequently seen in the tropics.
