Description
Pileus: campanulate becoming conical; 25 – 50 mm diameter; glabrous to pruinose; very bright yellow with an ochraceous apex; margin sulcate striate at maturity.
Stipe: cylindrical; 30 – 90 × 1 – 5 mm; glabrous to pruinose; yellow.
Gills: free; crowded; yellow.
Flesh: thin; yellow.
Spore print: white.
Spores: ellipsoid; 8 – 13 × 5.5 – 8 µm; with an apical pore.
Notes: this bright yellow fungus is readily recognized and is mostly found growing in flower pots. The photograph shows it can also occur in a natural environment
