Description

Fruiting body: an extensively lobed jelly fungus which usually has a central point of attachment;8 - 50 mm radius;the texture is soft, gelatinized and moist to touch; it is generally a transluscent brown colour.

Flesh: gelatinous and brown to orange brown, it is thicker when wet.

Spores: ovoid to ellipsoid, 9 – 11 × 6 – 8 µm.

Notes: There are other species of Tremella, but none has the combination of prominent leaf like lobes and brown colours that distinguish this species. This Tremella parasitizes other fungi, thought to be Peniophora. It is reported to be edible
