Description
Pileus: convex to planoconvex; 65 mm diameter; viscid, then like chamois (wash leather); white with slight ochraceous stains; margin appendiculate.
Stipe: cylindrical; 70 × 15 – 20 mm; lacunose, that is with a deep pocket like reticulum; very viscid; white.
Pores: emarginate, pink.
Flesh: white, unchanging.
Spore print: very pale pink.
Spores: amygdaliform; 20 – 26 × 5 – 7 µm; not noticeably striate.
Notes: the combination of a white cap with a lacunose and very viscid white stipe are sufficient to recognise this species in the field
