Pileus: convex; 50 mm diameter; dry, velutinate; pinkish brown; margin appendiculate.

Stipe: cylindrical; 60 - 70 × 14 – 18 mm; lacunose, with a pronounced pale brown reticulum over white surface.

Pores: emarginate, white becoming pink.

Flesh: white, unchanging.

Spore print: very pale pink.

Notes: the combination of a pinkish brown convex cap with a strongly reticulate stipe may be sufficient to recognise this species in the field. Sequencing confirms that this is an undescribed species, not A. lacunosus.
