Pileus: applanate, irregularly folded; 20 – 35 mm diameter; pubescent to almost glabrous, matt;cream to pale yellowish brown; margin fringed with hairs ( rudimentary spines?).
Stipe: cylindrical, often eccentric; 10 - 25 ×1 - 3 mm; pubescent to almost glabrous, shiny;cream but becoming yellowish brown towards apex..
Spines: decurrent; crowded; cream; tapering, 3 – 4 mm long.

Notes: this fungus is recognisedby its cream to pale yellowish browncap, and stipe and cream decurrent spines. It closely fits the description given by Reid of Australian material.
