Description

Pileus: convex when young, applanate at maturity; 50 – 115 mm diameter; dry, finely felted to subtomentose; dull yellow to greyish yellow.

Stipe: cylindrical; 30 – 50 × 20 -35 mm; solid, dry, subglabrous to finely, occasionally faintly reticulate at extreme apex, pastel yellow or slightly darker.

Pores: adnate to subdecurrent; 1 per mm; pallid yellow when young, becoming bright golden yellow at maturity.

Flesh: pallid yellow.

Spore print: olive brown.

Spores: fusoid;11– 14 × 4.5 – 6 µm; smooth.

Notes: this collection fits McNabb’s description of a golden yellow bolete.
