Description
Pileus: hemispherical, campanulate; 10 – 20 mm diameter; young specimens white with pink tint;glabrous with widely spaced dark brown scales which are denser at the top; indistinctly fibrillose.
Stipe: central, cylindrical to slightly clavate; 20-40 × 5-7 mm; glablous; white.
Gills: adnate; close; white maturing to black and barely deliquescing.
Flesh: white.
Spore print: black.
Spores: ellipsoid; 5 -7 × 4 µm.
Notes:this pinkish white fungus with distinctive dark brown scales is usually found singly or in small troopson logs and other woody substrates.
