Description
Fruiting body: depressed globose; 20 – 30 mm diameter; outer wall glabrous, white, flakes off at the equator leaving a cup shaped disc; inner wall matt, vinaceous grey; spores release through disintegration of the upper half.
Stipe: absent; fruiting body attached to the substrate by mycelial cords..
Spore print: brown.

Notes: this puffball is recognized by the white depressed globose fruiting body, the upper half of which (above the equator, disintegrates leaving a pale vinaceous disc. Disciseda species can only be determined by examining spores so this collection cannot be confirmed but appears close to D. candida.
