Pileus: convex; 15 – 40 mm diameter;  minutely fibrillose withsquamule widely scattered; dry;blue grey; margin acute.

Stipe: cylindrical, hollow; 20 – 60 × 3 – 4 mm; sometimes twisted; fibrillose; pruinose at apex; bright blue becoming grey towards base with a white tomentum at point of attachment.

Gills: adnexed; vivid sky blue, turning pink, edge serrate.

Flesh: pale grey blue.
