Description
Pileus: convex, sometimes with a small umbo; 5 – 40 mm diameter: rugulose at the centre, translucently reticulate;white to cream, brownish towards centre.
Stipe: cylindrical to clavate, hollow; 10 - 60 × 1 – 3 mm; pruinose; white to cream; tomentose at base.
Pores: adnate to subdecurrent; round to polygonal; white; 1 – 5per mm; 5 – 9 between stipe and cap margin.
Flesh: white.
Spore print: white.
Spores: ellipsoid; 5.5 –7 × 4 – 5.3 µm; smooth, amyloid.
Notes: this species is recognized by its pale coloured cap and white pores. The closely related F. conus, is generally dark brown, clearly caespitose and has larger spores.
