Description
Pileus: convex; 35- 80 mm diameter; viscid to glutinous; caramel brown (8F8); margin appendiculate.
Stipe: cylindrical, tall and slender; 50- 80 × 6-12 mm; white at apex, pale pinkish brown further down with rusty to blackish brown fibrillose streaks at very base.
Pores: adnexed; more or less rounded; ivory to pale pink, then vinaceous; very soft, spongy.
Flesh: watery white, gelatinized under pileus cuticle, white in stipe, pinkish buff watery from apex of stipe into pileus.
Spore print: pale pinkish brown.
Spores: amygdaliform to fusoid; 12.5 - 16.5 × 4.5 – 6.5 µm.
Notes: this species is recognized by its viscid caramel coloured cap and pale pink pores. It was previously recorded as F. viscida. However, sequencing confirms that this is the same species as F. mollis from Australia.
