Description
Cap: perennial bracket, dorsally attached to substrate; 40 - 90 mm diameter; surface undulate (wave like) to almost smooth; resinous, lacquered; reddish brown, copper, often zoned, margin more or less acute.
Stipe: dorsally attached, branching; 35 – 70 × 10 – 30; lacquered; dark brown, darker than pileus..
Pores: white to cream; round; 4 - 5 per mm; pore surface usually flat and horizontal to the ground.
Flesh: hard, corky; pale brown, paler in tubes.
Smell: none.
Spore print: reddish brown.

Notes: This fungus is recognized by its circular laccate fruiting body with a dorsally attached dark brownstipe and with small (4 – 5 per mm) white pores.It could be G. stipitatus but further macroscopic and microscopic details are required to confirm a diagnosis to species.
