Tropidia viridifusca is an endemic terrestrial orchid of New Caledonia, widespread in Grande Terre, from Mont Panié (Dawenia) in the north to Pic du Grand Kaori in the south of Grande Terre. It occurs in humid forest at an altitudinal range 0-550 m asl. This species does not seem globally threatened. Tropidia viridifusca is considered Least Concern (LC).
