Data Deficient (DD) , assessed in 28/11/2018Abrodictyum polystromaticum is an endemic terrestrial fern of New Caledonia. It is only known from the type collection in 1965 at Montagne de Sources. Little information is available on the species distribution, population, habitat and ecology and threats. This information should be investigated. Until it is available Abrodictyum polystromaticum is assessed as Data Deficient (DD). Field surveys are needed to better assess the risk of extinction of a species.
Geographical area
Abrodictyum polystromaticum is endemic of New Caledonia where it is only known from the type collection in 1965 at Montagne de Sources.

Habitat
From current data, Abrodictyum polystromaticum may be found in humid forest.

Threats are unknown.
Conservation
Abrodictyum polystromaticum is not protected by legislation and based on the current data it is found in one protected area : Montagne des sources. It is recommended to realise field surveys at Montagne des Sources as well as others southern massifs area to better evaluate the conservation status for this species. It is also recommended to improve the knowledge of the species (collection of herbarium specimens, taxonomic studies) to confirm its probable taxonomic issues and better estimate its distribution and status.
