in Southern Province , in Northern ProvinceCodia microphylla is an endemic shrub of New Caledonia. It is restricted to north west of Grande Terre in the area Poum-Koumac. It is found in scrubland and degraded vegetation on volcano-sedimentary substrate, at an altitude range of 35-324 m asl. The main threats impacting this species are bushfires and invasive species (Rusa deer (Rusa timorensis), wild horses) which damage vegetation. However the species is very common and tends to be a pioneer species, resilient to bushfires. Therefore with an Area of Occupancy (AOO) and an Extent of Occurrence (EOO) equal to 56 and 175 km², respectively, Codia microphylla is not thought to approach the requirements for listing as threatened. It is listed as Least Concern (LC).
