Vulnerable (VU) , assessed in 02/05/2019

Gongrodiscus parvifolius is an endemic shrub or tree (up to 6 m high) distributed in the south west of Grande Terre, from Mont Koghis to Mont Do (La Foa). This species occurs in shrubland and dense humid forest on ultramafic substrate between 800-1,026 m asl. The main threats identified are bushfires (Mt Do, Dzumac, Tontouta, Koghis) and potentially feral pigs at Humbolt and Haute Ni that contribute to the decline of habitat quality. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) is estimated to be 654 km² and an area of occupation (AOO) of 36 km² with a number of location equal to six. Therefore G. parvifolius qualififies as Vulnerable under criteria B1ab (iii, v)+B2ab (iii,v) with an estimated decline of habitat quality and number of mature individuals.
