L. sula is a species of mid and high altitude dense humid forest on ultramafic substrates. It is not thought to be currently threatened, and L. sula is considered Least Concern.

Liparis sula is a species of mid and high altitude dense humid forest on ultramafic substrates.
Threats
Liparis sula does not appear significantly threatened. The Paeoua subpopulation (in Nothofagus and Araucaria montana forest) may be threatened by future mining activities
Conservation
Lipris sula is protected in Province Sud and Province Nord and occurs in protected areas: Réserve Naturelle du Massif du Kouakoué, Réserve Naturelle de la Vallée de la Thy, Réserve Intégrale de la Montagne des Sources, and Réserve Naturelle de la Haute Dumbéa.
