Stigmaphyllon patricianum-firmenichianum is an endemic liana from the Loyalty Islands (New Caledonia). It is found on Lifou, Maré and Ouvéa, where it grows in open forest or shrubland on calcareous soils up to 90m asl. Its area of occupancy (AOO) and extent of occurrence (EOO) are 28 and 2,737 km², respectively. It is naturally common and no threats have been identified. Therefore, S. patricianum-firmenichianum is listed as Least Concern (LC).
Geographical area
This species is endemic to New Caledonia's Loyalty Islands. It is found on Lifou, Maré and Ouvéa (Butaud 2015).
Population
Total population size is unknown.
Habitat
This liana is restricted to littoral and plateau open forest or shrubland on the calcareous soils of uplifted atolls up to 100 m asl. It is also commonly found in open shrubby vegetation on the cliffs between littoral and plateau, or in disturbed habitat (along roads or close to villages in open areas, Butaud 2015).
Threats
No threats have been identified for this species.
Conservation
Unprotected by legislation in New Caledonia, this species does not occur in any protected areas.
