Description

Pileus: convex with an umbo; 15 - 45 mm diameter; dry; minutely squamulose or finely fibrillose; grey brown; margin strongly striate.

Stipe: cylindrical; 30 - 60 × 3 - 4 mm; dry; pale silvery grey; white fibrillose; fistulose.

Gills: free; crowded; white to beige;  turning pink with age

Flesh: pale silvery grey.

Smell: not distinctive.

Spore print: pink.

Spores: angular, 5 - 6 sided; 10 - 11 × 7 - 7.5 µm; smooth.  

Notes: this fungus is very like a slightly robust E. aromaticum without the darker brown umbo and the fruity aromatic smell. Only known from the type collection.
