Thuarea involuta is an autochtonous herb from New Caledonia where it is widely distributed in the coastal areas of Grande Terre as well as in Loyalty islands (Maré, Lifou, Ouvéa and Tiga) and the islets near by (Entrecasteaux, Chesterfield and Bellona). This species occurs in various habitats and it does not seem to be threatened. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are estimated at 319,305 and 96 km², respectively. Therefore, Thuarea involuta is listed as Least Concern (LC).

Threats
This species does not seem to be threatheaned.
Conservation
Thuarea involuta is not protected by legislation in New Caledonia and it does occur in one protected area : Barrage de Yaté.
