Least Concern (LC) , assessed in 28/11/2018Selliguea lanceolata is an epiphytic fern on tree's trunk, endemic of New Caledonia. This species has a scattered distribution in the south and the north east of Grande Terre. It is a locally common and an abundant species that occurs in dense humid forest from 500 to 1,300 m asl. With an extent of occurrence (EOO) equal to 7,536 km² and an area of occupancy (AOO) of 84 km², S. lanceolata does not seem threatened and therefore is assessed as Least Concern (LC).
Geographical area
Selliguea lanceolata is endemic to New Caledonia where it has a scattered distribution in Grande Terre, between the south (from La Capture to Col d'Amieu) and the north east (from Roches de la Ouaième to Madjelia).
Population
Population size is unknown but it is estimated to be a common species.

There is no threat identified.
Conservation
Selliguea lanceolata is not protected by legislation however it does occur in several protected areas: Mont Humboldt, Pic Ningua, Mont Mou, Haute Dumbéa, Côte Oubliée, Vallée de la Thy, la Dumbéa.
