in Northern ProvincePandanus decastigma is an endemic shrub from New Caledonia, only known from the type locality near Mount Kouakoué, in the south of Grande Terre. It was found in shrubland on ultramafic substrate between 10 and 100 m asl. There have been no recent observations of this species (although there have not been recent searches for the species at its known locality), and there is no information about potential threats. Therefore, P. decastigma is listed as Data Deficient (DD).

Geographical area
Pandanus decastigma is only known from the type locality near Mount Kouakoué, in the south of Grande Terre, New Caledonia.

Population size is unknown.

P. decastigma is found in shrubland on ultramafic substrate between 10 and 100 m asl.

Threats to this species are unknown.
Conservation
This species is protected by legislation in Province Nord and it does not occur in any protected areas. Field searches near Mount Kouakoué, Ouinné and N'Goye are recommended to find this species, better estimate its population, distribution and status.
