Ascarina solmsiana var. solmsiana is an endemic shrub or small tree from New Caledonia. It is distributed in the north east of Grande Terre, from Aoupinié to Ouégoa. It occurs in dense humid forest on volcano-sedimentary substrate from 450 m to 1,500 m asl. No threats have been identified to this day. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are estimated at 1,784 and 92 km², respectively. Therefore, Ascarina solmsiana var. solmsiana is listed as Least Concern (LC).

Ascarina solmsiana var. solmsiana is distributed in the north east of the Grande Terre, from Aoupinié to Ouégoa.

Population size is unknown.

Habitat


This variety occurs in dense humid forest on volcano-sedimentary substrate from 450 m to 1,500 m asl.

No threats have been identified to this day.

Conservation


Ascarina solmsiana var. solmsiana is unprotected by legislation in New Caledonia but it occurs in two protected areas: Aoupinié, Mont Panié.
