Cloezia glaberrima is an endemic shrub from New Caledonia, where it is restricted to the south of Grande Terre. This species is a possible hybrid, known from a single collection from MacKee in 1955 at Plaine des Lacs, near 'Mine Kiki'. It was found in shrubland on ultramafic substrate, in an area threatened by bushfires. This species is insufficiently known and collected, and thus hard to identify. Therefore, Cloezia glaberrima is listed as Data Deficient (DD) for taxonomic reasons.
