Data Deficient (DD) , assessed in 29/02/2016Myrsine nigricans ssp. nigricans is an endemic shrub of New Caledonia restricted to the north-east massif (Mandjélia, Ignambi, roches Ouaïème). This sub-species is insufficiently known. It is found in forest on volcano-sedimentary substrate at an altitude of 750-1,250 m asl. The genus needs a taxonomic clarification. Therefore, Myrsine nigricans ssp. nigricans is assigned as Data Deficient (DD) for taxonomic and provenance reasons.
