Corybas hybr. nat. X halleanus is an endemic terrestrial orchid of New Caledonia, a natural hybrid between Corybas pignalii and Corybas echinulus, only known from two populations in the southern part of Grande Terre: Mont Mou and Mé Mayoa. From current data, Corybas hybr. nat. X halleanus occurs in shrubland and rocky slopes at an altitudinal range 550-800 m asl. With a few observations, Corybas hybr. nat. X halleanus can not be assessed and qualifies as Data Deficient. Therefore, this taxa is considered Data Deficient (DD) for taxonomic reasons. Being an hybrid, this taxa is not submitted to the red list and classified as NE (not evaluated).

Population size is unknown.

Habitat


From current data, Corybas hybr. nat. X halleanus occurs in shrubland and rocky slopes at an altitudinal range 550-800 m asl.

Threats


Recurrent bushfires in the Mont Mou area may contribute to the degradation of its habitat.

Conservation


Prospection are needed to better evaluate the conservation status for this species. It is recommended to focus on Mé Maoya area and to preserve C. pignalii and C. echinulus sub-populations.
