Grevillea deplanchei, commonly known as "Rince-bouteille de rivière", is a riparian species endemic from New Caledonia. It is restricted to the southern massif (massif du Grand Sud) of the main land (Grande Terre), from its southern part at Rivière des Pirogues to its upper limit area at Tontouta-Thio. This species occurs in scrublands along river banks on ultramafic and serpentinite substrates up to 900 m asl. It is threatened by the change of river flow due to gravel deposits, an indirect threats from the mining activity at Tontouta and soil erosion from uncontrolled bushfires. It is also threatened by human activities (logging of the species for barbecues, over-stamping) that contribute to the degradation and loss of the habitat and the decline of the species (prevent regeneration of the species). Grevillea deplanchei can remain locally abundant in some stations but it is not a common species. Its extent of occurrence (EOO) and area of occupancy (AOO) are estimated to be of 1,519 km² and 108 km² with an estimation of eight locations. Grevillea deplanchei is therefore assessed as Vulnerable (VU) with criteria B1ab(ii,iii,v)+2ab (ii,iii,v) with a continuing decline of all the concerned criteria.
