Pycnandra neocaledonica is an endemic tree up to 10m tall restricted to the very north-eastern corner of Grande Terre: Ignambi, Mandjélia, Vagaya/Amoss.This species occurs in humid forests on volcano-sedimentary substrate at an altitudinal range 500-1,000 m asl. The main impact identified comes from busfires. The EOO and AOO, respectively, are calculated to be 36 km2 and 54 km2 and a number of location equal to three. Pycnandra neocaledonica is assigned a preliminary status of Vulnerable VU: B1ab(iii,v)+B2ab(iii,v) with a continuing decline of all sub-criteria.
Pycnandra neocaledonica is restricted to the very north-eastern corner of Grande Terre: Ignambi, Mandjélia, Vagaya/Amoss.
It is known from three subpopulations.
Pycnandra neocaledonica occurs in humid forests on volcano-sedimentary substrate at an altitudinal range 500-1,000 m asl.
Some subpopulations may be threatened by bushfires.
Unprotected by legislation, this species does not occur in any protected areas.
