Pycnandra neocaledonica is an endemic tree up to 10m tall restricted to the very north-eastern corner of Grande Terre: Ignambi, Mandjélia, Vagaya/Amoss.This species occurs in humid forests on volcano-sedimentary substrate at an altitudinal range 500-1,000 m asl. The main impact identified comes from busfires. The EOO and AOO are respectively calculated to be 36 km² and 54 km² and the number of locations is six. Pycnandra neocaledonica is therefore listed as Vulnerable (VU) B1ab(iii,v)+B2ab(iii,v) with a continuing decline of all sub-criteria.

Pycnandra neocaledonica is restricted to the very north-eastern corner of Grande Terre: Ignambi, Mandjélia, Vagaya/Amoss.
Population
It is known from six subpopulations.
Habitat
Pycnandra neocaledonica occurs in humid forests on volcano-sedimentary substrate at an altitudinal range 500-1,000 m asl.
Threats
Some subpopulations may be threatened by bushfires.
Conservation
Unprotected by legislation, this species does not occur in any protected areas.
